Tuition
If you compare SSL’s tuition costs to other institutions in the United States, you will find it very economical and competitive, especially considering the many services SSL offers and the attractiveness of living in most U.S. growing cities. Because the cost of living in these cities is much lower than on the U.S.’s east or west coast, studying English at SSL is even more affordable.
SEVIS fee (I-901 fee): Once you receive your I-20 from the school, you must pay the SEVIS fee (I-901 fee) to be enrolled in the student and exchange visitor information system.
Health Insurance (through ISO Insurance)
Health insurance is not required but strongly recommended. Medical care in the United States is costly. It will cost a lot of money if you need to go to the doctor. For this reason, we strongly recommend that students have health insurance. If you have health insurance, please bring your card to prove you are insured. If you do not have insurance, you should pay for two months of insurance when you pay your tuition. Insurance for eight weeks costs US$200. It will pay for most problems. However, it will not pay for general physicals, teeth, eyes, preexisting conditions, or issues caused by alcohol and drugs. (For more information on ISO or Questions. Please call ISO at (800) 244-1180 or e-mail mailbox@isoa.org
Pocket Money
Pocket money is for miscellaneous expenses such as movies, dinner in restaurants, and shopping. Some pocket money is recommended for activities and miscellaneous expenses. This assumes that the student will live at the same level as the average American student.
